2026 WOMEN’S LAND AND CLIMATE JUSTICE CONVERGENCE

The 3 day convergence explored land as Identity and Survival - a powerful theme emerged during Day 1 of the East African Women's Land and Climate Justice Convergence, “No land, no life”. Land is central to: identity, culture, livelihoods & community continuity, whilst the loss of land results in a loss of identity, breakdown of cultural systems & disruption of traditional ways of life.

Studio Mariart was commissioned to capture discussions, stories, quotes and collective energy though real time digital illustrations. The aim was to document and communicate key emerging messages and themes in an accessible, engaging and movement rooted way.
