No More Names
Femicide has been on the rise globally, and especially in Kenya where it has become an alarming phenomenon. This illustration depicts a wall covered with endless names of victims of Femicide in Kenya. It transitions from a dark bottomless pit of despair at the bottom of the wall, to a lighter and more hopeful future at the top of the wall with women painting over the names with bold colors, words like ‘Freedom’ ‘Strength’ ‘Hope’ ‘Safety’ and ‘NO MORE NAMES!’
This illustration envisions a hopeful future, a beginning to the end of Gender Based Violence and Femicide, a society free from violence and discrimination, and a safe society for women to thrive.
I hope to share more on this touching topic in the coming weeks.
